Fools Gathering
Susan stole the show at our First Fools Gathering with a Commedia dell'Arte workshop that provided much-needed respite from all of that painful thinking. We're applying thumbscrews to get her to present a Commedia workshop for those not able to join us for Foolery.

Susan shared another splendiferous Commedia experience at our second gathering of fools, exploring the authority of the body in a session entitled, "Authority Ridiculi."
Other Projects
Susan is working on a handful of splendiferous projects, including a superbly ridiculous novel about the exploits of Fistulous Withers at the Ailing Hock Inn (a teaching tool for students learning about equine ailments -- truly -- you've got to read it to believe it!), and, in conjunction with her young son, a creative methodology for building ritual, community, and adventure into children's lives. As these develop, we hope to publish Susan's works through our publishing arm, Meandering Press.

Proving that genius runs in the family, we'd like to share an extemporaneous, unedited poem that Chance proclaimed one afternoon a short time ago, eyes closed, arms held out.
"I'm the Bird of the Dark.
I'm the Bird of the Dark and Shadows.
I eat fireflies.
I have the powers of the Universe.
I give food to the moon and the stars.
I'm a volcano bird.
I am red.
When it's cold,
I'm a cold bird.
When the sun's out,
I'm a yellow bird.
When it's a white day,
I'm a pretty white bird.
When it's a blue day,
I'm a pretty blue bird.
When the world is all green,
I'm a green bird. I'm like the Green Man, but I can fly.
When I go in a tree, I turn into a Woodpecker.
When it's a cuckoo day,
I turn into a little cuckoo bird.
The Bird of the Dark is black.
I have dragonfly power.
I can live in shadows too."
